The FL State Nominations Committee
Greetings Florida State Organization,
The 2022 DKG International Convention was a memorable experience for the 26 Florida members in attendance. The first night in New Orleans we participated in a “2nd Line” with a police escort. Our 850 attendees
danced around several blocks led by the brass instruments. What a great welcome to New Orleans, Louisiana! We enjoyed the two keynote speakers, the many breakout sessions, the food choices, and, of course,
our business sessions where we discussed and voted on 119 amendments to our Constitution. At the regional breakfasts, we were asked to contribute to the International Emergency Fund. As a combined group, we donated $15,000.
We also had a wonderful Florida reception in New Orleans thanks to Terry Stanilonis, Carrie Frye, Connie Kostyra, Susan Salesses, Linda Hudgens, and many more who provided food, drinks, and LAUGHTER!
This spring we had our six district meetings. Each one was unique and, of course, very fun and informational. Thank you to the 2020-2022 District Directors who made this happen. Thanks to Ann Comforter, Terrye Mosley, Kathy Raiford, Karol Gotte, Diane Revels, Debbie Sack, and Joanne Hig-
In June of 2022, we had an awesome group of 28 participants at the Jesslyn McBride Leadership Seminar. These women will be the ones to lead us into our second century. You are all Leaders!!! Ladies, keep up your enthusiasm and desire to encourage other educators. Thank you to Pat Litterick and the Leadership Committee who planned every detail and covered many subjects needed to prepare our next chapter presidents and state leaders.
Special congratulations to Jennifer Guarraia, member of Alpha Kappa Chapter in Tallahassee, for being awarded a Cornetet Individual Professional Development award to attend a special conference.
September 23 – 24, 2022, are the dates for our upcoming
Fall Executive Board Meeting and Workshops. We will again
provide a meal on Friday evening. We are planning to honor
all the past District Directors. Our keynote speaker is Candace(Candi) Martin, our immediate past Southeast Regional Director. Please get those reservations in early and secure a hotel room.
Please be faithful to attend and actively participate in your chapter, district, and state meetings! Thank you for all you do.
