September 21, 2024 Bylaws Committee Report Submitted By Pat Eckstein, Chair
This past July at the DKG International Convention several of the proposed amendments passed. These Approved Amendments can be found on the DKG website homepage under Documents. Once there, click on Constitution & ISR, and finally click on Constitution Actions for State Organizations and Chapters. The Bylaws Committee is currently reviewing the Approved Amendments and aligning the Florida State Organization Bylaws and Standing Rules to comply with them. The updated Florida State Bylaws and Standing Rules will be posted on the Florida State Organization’s website by the end of October 2024. The Bylaws Committee encourages you to examine the Florida State Organization Bylaws and submit any amendment proposals to the committee for consideration at the Florida State Convention in April of 2025. The committee wants to remind you that any proposed changes to the FL State Bylaws and Standing Rules must be published in the FL Rays at least 60 days prior to the Florida State Convention. The amendment proposal form can be found on the Bylaws Committee page of the FL DKG website. Any member may submit a proposed amendment change, but proposed changes must be received by November 1, 2024. This is an absolute deadline. The Bylaws Committee will continue reviewing Chapter Rules to ensure that they are updated and aligned with the DKG governing documents. We appreciate all chapters that have already complied with this request and we encourage all others to do the same. Chapter Rules are the guide for a well functioning chapter. The Bylaws Committee is ready and willing to offer any support and guidance for updating and aligning your Chapter Rules with the DKG Constitution. If you have not submitted your Chapter Rules for review, please email a copy of your Chapter Rules to your FL Bylaws Representative or to Pat Eckstein, Bylaws Chair. Submitted by: Pat Eckstein FL State Bylaws Chair 2023-2025
